Model Planes – This F-22 Raptor Model Airplane is a scale model of the Lockheed Martin/Boeing F-22 Raptor USAF aircraft. The F-22 Raptor is crafted from molded resin and is an impressive aviation gift. The F-22 Raptor model aircraft arrives fully assembled and includes a display stand. Model scale is 1/48, with about a 11 ¼" wingspan and 15 ¼" length.

The F-22 Raptor is a fifth generation fighter aircraft that uses stealth technology. Stealth technology makes it harder for an aircraft to be detected by radar and other means. It uses a combination of features to reduce visibility in the visual, audio, infrared and radio frequency spectrum. While no aircraft is totally invisible to radar, stealth aircraft limit current conventional radar’s abilities to detect or track them effectively enough to prevent an attack. As of February, 2009 135 F-22 Raptor’s have been manufactured.
